As WWII progressed and German forces lost their air superiority amid fierce Allied raids in the sky, Germany looked to bolster ground to air defense with the development of self propelled anti aircraft guns based upon tanks and half track vehicles. The 8ton half track (Sd. Kfz. 7 2) was one of those such weapons. The half track chassis employed had a proven track record towing 88mm guns, but was now
